Why is an ePortfolio important?

An ePortfolio can be inspiring if you truly look at the different aspects when viewing several ePortfolios. The owner can use their own voice and create something so unique and different for someone else's. It’s not just a collection of work and artifacts that individuals created and put into one place for someone to view and read. Instead, it can represent that individual's authentic learning experience and the true voice of the learner/creator. There is so much variety and personality that shines through when you open up someone's ePortfolio. It showcases their organizational skills, their passion and artistic abilities through the wide variety of platforms, layouts, and color schemes they chose. It lets you have a firsthand seat at where that learner started in their learning journey and how they have grown and progressed in their work. Embracing their true voice and taking ownership in their ePortfolio. When starting your ePortfolio process it can seem a little overwhelming in the beginning, but it allows you to have full autonomy over the layout and all of the content and blogs you chose to write and display on your pages. I am enjoying exploring the diversity and versatility of ePortfolios and how you can showcase your work and your journey in your own way which makes it even more enjoyable. Since I have started the program, I have been able to look back at my ePortfolio which has been both rewarding and humbling as I can see my own growth unfold before me. I will be able to utilize my ePortfolio to showcase my growth as a professional and be able to self-reflect upon my work. I can use it to share my ideas and passions with coworkers and administration. While also showcasing my commitment to continued lifelong learning.  I know that my ePortfolio will be a continuous work of art that will never be completely finished as I continue to move through this program and throughout life after graduate school. I feel that this is something I can and will be able to be proud of for some time to come as it continues to evolve as I do.
